In the afternoon of November 16, the thirty-eighth edition of “First-class Strategies” Young Doctoral Students Forum of Taiyuan University of Technology was successfully held in the conference room 709 of Science and Technology Building. The reporter was Gong Lishuang, a doctoral student enrolled in 2016 from the College of Physics and Optoelectronics. Gao Fei, a professor-level senior engineer from the Shanxi Academy of Metrology, Professor Wang Anbang, Vice Dean of the College, discipline leaders, supervisors and more than 80 postgraduates attended this forum.

Gong Lishuang gave a presentation entitled “Research on Autonomous Boolean Networks for Physical Random Number Generators”. Gong introduced the important role of physical random number generators based on autonomous Boolean networks in network security. To solve the problem that the current physical random number generator rate cannot meet the demand of high-speed communication, Boolean chaos is proposed to generate high-speed physical random numbers to ensure the absolute security of cryptographic systems. He also shared his experience on researches, writing papers, and communicating and collaborating with fellow students.

Professor Gao Fei, Director of the Shanxi Academy of Metrology, highly praised research ideas, methods and achievements of Gong Lishuang, and hoped to cooperate in random number detection and other researches in the future. Professor Wang Anbang, Vice Dean of the College of Physics and Optoelectronics, and Zhang Jianguo, Gong Lixiang’s supervisor, gave comments on how to solve technical problems in the research and how to carry out the research more effectively from different perspectives.

During communication, students interacted actively with the speaker by asking questions in relation to their own research content.

The “First-class Strategy” Young Doctoral Student Forum is an important initiative to promote the construction of “double first-class” and implement the project of improving the quality of postgraduate education, which can play an important role in broadening academic horizons, exercising comprehensive ability, creating academic atmosphere and promoting interdisciplinary.
